The Lloyds Bank British Business Excellence Awards have announced those businesses and entrepreneurs who have truly made an outstanding contribution to British Business. The calibre of finalists in each category was the highest it’s been so far, with Britain’s business elite filling every seat in the room.
The evening was intertwined with entertainment and speeches from Sarah Austin, Director of the Lloyds Bank British Business Excellence Awards and the UK Chancellor, Jeremy Hunt. British news personality Naga Munchetty and A-list actor David Harewood also featured in the entertainment section of the evening, with The Lionesses receiving the honorary award for Inspirational Leadership off the back of their success at the Women’s Football World Cup.
Lee Chambers of Essentialise Workplace Wellbeing was highly commended in the DEI Champion category, with the judges praising their innovative use of virtual reality, their diverse and talented team, and Chambers vision and leadership in taking the company into new territory despite challenging market circumstances. Judges this year included Lizzie Carter of Only Curls, Paul Morrison of Zoom and Anna Brailsford of Code Girls First. Other companies recognised on the evening included Cleanology, Correla and Sweet Projects.
Sarah Austin, Director of The Lloyds Bank British Business Excellence Awards, commented: “What an incredible evening we had at the Lloyds Bank British Business Excellence Awards last night. It was an honour to have Chancellor Jeremy Hunt, Actor David Harewood and host Naga Munchetty gracing the event with their presence. The atmosphere was electric as we celebrated these outstanding companies and individuals who have made remarkable contributions to British business.
“The anticipation in the room was palpable as we unveiled the winners in each category. The calibre of finalists was exceptional, and it’s clear that Britain’s business elite were well represented. Every winner showcased exceptional dedication and innovation in their respective fields, setting a standard for excellence that will undoubtedly inspire others.
On their award, Chambers added, “It’s a real privilege to be recognised on the National stage by the countries biggest business awards. With over a thousand of our peers in attendance, it is a real moment on our business journey that hasn’t always been easy. We are proud to show what is possible, and representing Lancashire is something that means a lot to us. We will use the feedback from the judges to continue to improve and continue to make a positive impact through our work.”
This award continues a positive period for Chambers and the team, who won a Great British Entrepreneur Award in 2021 and has recently been recognised by UN Women for services to gender equality.
